General Summary

Responsible for research and analysis on EMC Information Intelligence Group (IIG) competitors and target markets

Principal duties and responsibilities

-          Develop and maintain various deliverables such as presentations, papers and blog posts on key competitors containing recommendations with necessary detail and supporting data

-          Write summary of quarterly financial earnings of key public competitors

-          Monitor competitor activities, events, announcements

-          Analyze market data and competitor information, providing an objective viewpoint grounded in facts and utilizing analytical skills

-          Utilize external resources, including analyst firms such as IDC and Gartner to collect and analyze data

-          Respond to the field requests for competitive information

-          Attend relevant webinars and conduct interviews with the field to gather information on competitive products

Skills:

-          Experience in enterprise software doing research and analysis, product management, product marketing, or sales/solution engineering

-          Experience in research and analysis, and working knowledge of research and analysis techniques and methodologies

-          Project management skills

-          Good communication skills – verbal and especially written; must be well-versed in MS Office tools

-          Experience in enterprise software such as information management, middleware; e.g., ECM, WCM, social business and collaboration platforms, BPM, case management, capture, records management, compliance, governance, enterprise search and analytics

-          Knowledge of cloud computing such as PaaS, private and hybrid clouds is a plus

-          Working knowledge of social media services such as Twitter and LinkedIn

-          Knowledge of analyst firms such as IDC, Gartner and Forrester, and their products is a plus

-          Experience with IBM (FileNet, WebSphere, Lotus), Microsoft SharePoint, OpenText, Oracle Fusion, Kofax, Alfresco, Hyland, Tibco, or Pega is a plus

Education: Bachelor, MS or MBA a plus

Experience: 2 years minimum required
